Once logged in, you can add friends using their Microsoft email address, send instant messages, and share your status.

Add Contacts: Go to the Contacts menu and select "Add Contact".
Change Status: Click your status icon (Available, Busy, etc.) to let others know what you’re up to.
Send a Nudge: Click the "Nudge" button in a chat window to get your friend's attention!
